A New Year with A New Smile
- Posted on: Jan 15 2019
After the holiday season finally winds down, it can be hard to get the motivation to form New Year’s Resolutions. Some of us just want to relax! But, there are others who are ready to start waking up at 5 A.M. to jog and lose those extra pounds. Where ever you fall on the scale, we’re here for you. We’ve been getting more and more questions about teeth whitening, and we’re here to help you understand a little more of what we do. So, if you’re thinking about improving your smile this year, keep reading.
Why should I whiten my teeth?
You may have been kicking around the idea of whitening your teeth for years. We’re here to tell you, just do it! Why waste time worrying about your smile, or even hiding it away when you could whiten your teeth quickly and safely? You could be smiling carefree and easy with just one visit with us!
Aren’t the whitening strips at the grocery store good enough?
Your smile may be suffering from more than just surface-level stains. As we get older, the enamel on our teeth thins. The layer underneath is then exposed, and this layer (called dentin) is more yellow than our enamel. Dentin grows darker as we age, too, which is why you may have darker teeth without drinking coffee or red wine regularly.
This is why the teeth whitening strips you grab at the grocery store may not give you the best, bright smile that you want. The solution doesn’t penetrate deep enough to whiten the dentin, and may not even fully remove stains. Also, the strips may not fully cover your teeth, leaving you with uneven, splotchy results.
What do you offer?
We offer the best professional teeth whitening system that you can utilize in the comfort of our office. The only thing we recommend is that you have natural front teeth, since veneers or crowns will not whiten as natural teeth do. If you’re ready for a bright smile, give us a call.
