Same-Day Root Canal Treatment
The reputation of root canals is far worse than the reality. What Is a Root Canal and When Do You Need One?
Root canal therapy removes infected or inflamed pulp tissue from inside the tooth — the living tissue that, once infected, causes the intense pain associated with a dental abscess or irreversible pulpitis. Indications include: persistent severe toothache, especially to heat; prolonged sensitivity that doesn’t resolve; a visible abscess or swelling; or a tooth that is cracked deeply enough to allow bacterial invasion of the pulp. Without treatment, the infection progresses, often requiring extraction.
The Root Canal Process — What to Expect
After thorough numbing, Dr. Garza creates a small access opening in the tooth. The infected pulp tissue is carefully removed from the root canals, the canals are shaped and disinfected, and they are filled with a biocompatible material called gutta-percha to seal them permanently. The access is closed. In most cases, the entire process takes one to two hours, and the tooth is pain-free from the moment the anesthetic takes effect.

Laser-Assisted Disinfection

Laser-assisted root canal disinfection is associated with reduced bacterial load and improved long-term success rates, particularly in complex multi-canal cases.
