What is cosmetic dentistry?
While your teeth may be healthy, some patients have issues with the cosmetic appearance of their smile. With cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Garza seeks to improve the appearance, but not necessarily the function, of a person’s teeth and overall smile. Cosmetic dentistry improves aesthetic issues such as staining, misshapen teeth, poor alignment, a gummy smile, and similar concerns. Dr. Garza performs a variety of cosmetic dentistry procedures in office to improve the overall beauty of your smile.
What can cosmetic dentistry Correct?
Short of dramatically moving teeth, which would require orthodontics, Dr. Garza can address most other issues. Remember, these are not issues with the health of the teeth and gums, simply with their appearance. These cosmetic issues include:
- Closing gaps between teeth
- Whitening badly stained teeth
- Straightening poorly aligned teeth
- Fixing chipped teeth
- Covering badly pitted teeth
- Changing the shape of misshapen teeth
- Reducing gummy smiles
- Lengthening overly short teeth
Types of Cosmetic Procedures
Dr. Garza offers the following cosmetic procedures:
- Gum contouring
- CEREC crowns
- Contouring and reshaping
Thanks to our diode laser, Dr. Garza can reduce gummy smiles and adjust the gum line, all without needing sutures and with far less bleeding and minimal discomfort afterward.
Dr. Garza offers in-office teeth whitening that can make your teeth 10-12 shades whiter in a series of one hour sessions. Additionally, patients that cannot visit the office as often can come and pick up at-home whitening trays. These trays offer in-office strength whitening with the convenience of in-home use.
“Dr. Garza is by far the best dentist in AZ. He stays up on the latest technology, and treatments, has a knowledgeable and caring staff and is honest and trustworthy in his practices. Highly recommend this office and have personally been a patient for over a decade. My kids also are patients and he is wonderful with the little kiddos too!” – Mifi M.
Before & After Cosmetic Dentistry
risks of Cosmetic Procedures
These cosmetic procedures have a very low risk of complications. For example, porcelain veneers and composite bonding simply overlay the front side of the teeth. Additionally, whitening has proven completely safe over decades of procedures. Laser gum contouring is very efficient and vastly reduces pain, as well as, the possibility of infection over previous methods. All in all, there is minimal to no risk with these procedures.
cosmetic dentistry cost
The costs associated with aesthetically changing your smile depend entirely upon what services you have done. For instance, porcelain veneers are more expensive than bonding, but veneers will last longer. Each cosmetic procedure comes with their own advantages and disadvantages for each patient. During your consultation, Dr. Garza will discuss the options he thinks would fit your needs and you’ll discuss the costs involved in detail.
